Religious Education & Sacramental Preparation:
The Religious Education program will meet every Sunday beginning September 12, 2021 through May 2022 from 10:45 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. in-person at Sacred Heart Church in the Education Building. Programs that will be available this year are:
Regular Religious Education program for all children in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion (children 7 years or older).
The RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (any child who is 7 years or older and has not been baptized).
Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation (teens 15 years or older).
Make sure to register your child since space will be limited per classroom. This will allow us to plan accordingly and assure your child is enrolled in the Sacramental program he/she needs for the 2021-2022 Formation Year.
The Religious Education Program helps all children know God in Christ as the fulfillment of their deepest desire. It provides religious & spiritual guidance, inspiration, and support in the children’s journey with Christ so that they may incorporate their faith in all aspects of their daily life. Three critical elements of our program and ministry are:
Enabling the experience of God.
Living in a Christian community.
Connecting our faith with our daily lives.
In doing so, the children will come to have a lasting relationship with God and not just know about God. In the Religious Education Program, we implement the Diocesan based Catholic Education Curriculum. It instills Christian values to our young believers. The program is designed for children and youth Pre-K through 12th grade. A core group of volunteers who serve as Catechists and Aides use the Christian values and sacramental teaching with the children to deepen their awareness of the Catholic Faith. These volunteers are dedicated and committed to assisting in the development of this relationship with God.
