Reconciliation

“Because you are God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with heartfelt mercy, with kindness, humility, meekness and patience. Bear with one another; whatever grievances you have against one another. Forever as the Lord has forgiven you. Over all these virtues put on love, which binds the rest together and make them perfect. Christ’s peace must reign in your hearts, since as members of the one body you have been called to that peace.” [Colossians 3:12-15a]

In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the community celebrates the forgiveness of Christ which reconciles us to God our Father and to each other. During the seasons of Advent and Lent, special communal celebrations of Reconciliation are held. Individual celebration of Reconciliation can be arranged by appointment.

In conjunction with First Eucharist preparation parents are required to commit themselves to participate with their child in the parish program of preparation. The child must be an active participant in the Christian Education Program at Church of the Sacred Heart or St. Joseph’s Catholic School.

See the calendar for Children’s First Reconciliation Service and Parish Penance Services.  Check the weekly schedule for weekly opportunities for reconciliation.
